The desire for power has always been there. We all know – to a greater or lesser extent – the tendency to control and dominate in order to finally find security and meaning. But the effort to impose one’s ideas on unpredictable, wild life is almost unbearable. Dictators secretly wish to be relieved of this burden.
The dictator resides in the conditioned mind. It is the sum total of all human experience. From the beginning he has collected data to ensure survival. The dictator believes he is right. These security programs should serve us, but in combination with fear they have often taken on a dictatorial dimension. The disadvantage of security programs is obvious: they make us lifeless.
The dictator must maintain power at all costs because he believes that without these security programs everything would collapse. The dictator is already tired, it is a huge effort to want to control life. But how can he give up his power?
