47. PRESENCING

Presencing is a neologism from Theory U. It describes the connection between being present and feeling. Presencing is mindfulness combined with body awareness. When sensing, people pay attention to how something is being communicated to them through the senses and body awareness. The object of perception can be either outside or inside the body. 

Sensing requires some patience. It is helpful to be present and engage with what you are sensing and then let the event sink in. It is advisable to pay attention to bodily experiences such as emotions and affects. 

It may also be that the direct experience of what you perceive stirs something in you-a mobilized vitality-that seeks expression. You may want to write about it, photograph it, etc.
