22. SYSTEMIC CHANGE

Many of the problems we face as individuals cannot be solved on a personal level alone. The global crises clearly show that old social systems are no longer able to solve the challenges of the new age, and are even partly responsible for their creation.

Just as the functional and utilitarian thinking of our time is directly responsible for burnout and loss of motivation, large state or private institutions are no longer able to take humanity and cooperation into account. When an individual is caught in the ruthless gears of systemic power interests, the need for change in society becomes obvious.

Although the impending systemic change seems overwhelming, each individual is crucial in shaping a better future. According to Otto Scharmer, the inner attitude of the individual is decisive for the necessary social change.
