“…and the shattered shard of water grows whole again.”
Johannes Kühn
Theory U assumes that we either repeat old patterns (downloading) or become aware of them (presencing) and break into the new (not knowing, crystallizing). The old patterns are often self-centered. They are about expectation and disappointment. When something the ego wants does not happen, there is a hail of blame and frustration.
Theory U advocates a shift from an ego-centered system to an eco-centered consciousness, where the focus is not only on the fate of the individual, but on the common good. One of the core ideas of Theory U is that form follows consciousness. Accordingly, we can change reality by changing our inner attitudes.
So when we choose not to follow the old patterns, but instead open ourselves to what is and what is to come, we change not only our personal world, but also the collective reality.
